Looking ahead to 2011 spring season QB race

I know you're thinking :WTH @ this thread, but with all the love the media's been pouring on Tay-Mart this spring for his freakish athleticism, imagine what the 2011 spring season will be like when the following players who are equally as athletic enter into the mix:

Brion Carnes

Jamal Turner (he plans to enroll in Jan. 2011)

Who will the media go ga-ga over next spring?

It'll be interesting to see where Cody ends up in 2010 (starter or backup?) and where he'll be once 2011 rolls around. Tay-Mart is another interesting story to follow in 2010 as well. Needless to say, having young players like Carnes and Turner pushing Green and Tay-Mart should make for another interesting spring season in 2011.

At the end of the day, it's nice knowing we have that kind of depth.

Imagine if Martinez actually won the starting job...as a freshmen. We would be in such a good position where our best quarterback is so young and has the chance of being great for a long time and if someone comes and dethrones him that just means that we will be even more talented at the position.

Honestly, I have no favorites for the QB job this season. I don't care who it is, just show me that you can manage and lead the team and put points on the board. I'll support whoever is out on the field at any given time.

Yeah I guess what I was getting at is that if Martinez is actually good enough to be the starter or even close then talent at the quarterback position should not be an issue for a long time to come. I don't personally care who starts, just pointing out that there is a possibility of something really exciting happening.

I hear where you're coming from. If it's Martinez, then so be it. I'll support him 100%.

I taken a long, cool drink of spring camp Kool-Aid and I agree that the QB spot is looking GREAT right now. I hope this continues right on through the preseason warm-up games into our Big 12 schedule. :koolaid2:

I am just glad this is not another thread about such and such being the next great QB at Nebraska based on some high school video. Those video are great at evaluating if someone has the tools and POTENTIAL to be good, but nothing more. I laugh at those who crown the next QB based on that.

May the best QB win the job! GBR
