looking ahead to next year

what position would we see the biggest upgrade in speed and athletic ability?...talkin' bout for next year

starting wide receivers no question about it, well except possibly an upgrade in linebackers athletic ability and speed. i have to think that paul and holt will be an upgrade over swift and peterson, not that they are bad at all but next year should be much better......

With all the seniors on the team, especially along the line and at the skill positions this thread should probably be about what positions will be worse next year, not better.

i think he means athletic ability, meaning potential, and not which position will be younger. plus i see us being better almost everywhere next year except possibly QB.

I agree. We should be talking about how much inexperience we will have. We're going to have a QB that has seen very very very little to zero playing time. I think we're making a huge mistake by not getting the #2 and #3 in there.

How do you know the #2 and #3 will be playing next year?

I don't. How many top teams are playing QB's with zero experience?
Ummm, I don't know. I am not the one making the decisions, but I get the impression that the reason they aren't playing the backups QBs is because the QB they want to use next year isn't here yet.

We didn't even hand the keys over to true frosh Tommie until after some games. If these coaches are putting all their eggs in that basket, then we're in big trouble. Let's take a trip down memory lane with regards to QB recruits. We recruit this high powered QB named Beck. Even though he left, he wasn't good at all. He's what like 3rd or 4th string now in his senior year? Next comes Freeman. Even though he didn't come here and went to KState, what has he done other than 2 good games against Texas that has really impressed anyone? He's in his 3rd year starting, and he ranks a lot closer to bottom in the Big 12 than top. The jury is still out on Blaine Gabbert. However, I think it's safe to say he won't be starting for Mizzou next year. We won't be able to see how "gifted" he is for another 2 years.

People are saying Ganz is making sophomore mistakes as a senior because he just hasn't had the playing time. Now, we're all supposed to put our faith in a true frosh next year? I say no way. This offense is more complex than what TO ran, and no way a true frosh comes in and starts next year. Other than the VT game and the TT game, there's really no excuse for not playing Witt and Lee. Daniel didn't play the 4th qtr. Why was Ganz still playing in the 4th? What purpose did it serve other than not getting our #2 and #3 any reps at all. Pi$$ poor player management if you ask me.

Gabbert will almost certainly be the starter next season. He's currently #3 behind 2 seniors.

its going tough for gabbert.... so much hype coming in and following a guy who is CLEARLY the best QB they have ever had....

More athletic: Secondary, Linebackers, D Line, O Line, Wide receivers and Running backs.

Inexperienced: Secondary and Linebackers.

I think we'll get to 10 wins next season.

Number 21 in passing yards so far in the season and he's not impressive? Considering the lack of talent around him (with the exception of one individual), I would say that's pretty damn good...

Again. I'm not saying I agree with it, but I think the reason they did not get any reps is because the QB they want to have the reps is not here yet.

As clone says

Opinions may vary...

QB is obvious. I think Linebackers and defensive tackles. The o-line will have some questions but I do not think those shoes will be that big to fill. The talent on the O-line is somewhat parallel.

I'm not sure what will be worse, but there will be a lot of ? marks. Specifically LB & DT. We havent seen the depth w/returning players that have done well w/rotations.
