Marlon Lucky left Saturday morning’s practice early, and team physicians will check for a possible concussion, NU coach Bill Callahan said.

Meanwhile, backup I-back Cody Glenn watched in street clothes because of a hamstring injury.

“Hopefully he’ll be back in a couple days,” Callahan said of Glenn, who has been bothered by a right foot injury since November and practiced Friday with his right calf in a wrap.

Lucky was injured during a scrimmage part of Nebraska’s practice.

Behind Lucky and Glenn are sophomore Major Culbert, a converted safety, and true freshmen Quentin Castille, Roy Helu and Marcus Mendoza.

The 6-foot-1, 255-pound Castille has draw favorable comments from several teammates. Asked about Castille’s weight, Callahan said, “He’s a big back. He’s athletic enough to carry that weight. It’s not an issue where he weighs 280 and has to drop 30 or 40 pounds. His body fat is such that he doesn’t have to lose a ton of weight.”

In other injury news, guard Andy Christensen (hamstring) and wide receiver Todd Peterson (shoulder) returned to practice. Wide receiver Chris Brooks (hamstring) remained sidelined, and safety Bryan Wilson left Saturday morning’s practice with an apparent foot injury. Wilson's injury didn't appear serious.

Oh yes, and Trevor Robinson watched practice Saturday morning with his father, leaving the stadium just before practice ended.

Atleast it isn't a bone, joint or ligament injury.

Must have been some popping going on in the scrimage this morning :bonez

This is why Major Culburt is playing RB. Hopefully Lucky and Glenn can stay healthy this year.

I wonder who laid the wood to Lucky to give him a concussion?

Pretty sure I would rather tear my ACL than a moderate to severe concussion. This is one thing I do for a living is holding kids out for getting concussions and rehabbing ACL injuries. To many teams, especially the NFL let guys go back too soon after concussions and people pay for it later on in life when they try to get back too soon. Hopefully it isn't a bad concussion.

Another report or poster (don't recall which) said he left practice with "heat exhaustion." Sounds like he got his bell rung.

Last year didn't he have a nagging back injury? Hopefully that all fully resolved, or is it still an issue?

I don't think it will be anything too bad that he's not going to be back at full speed here in a week or so. Glenn just can't get over that damn nagging foot injury. You would have thought he would have been over it by now!!!! The season isn't going to help him much with getting it any better. I have a feeling it's going to get worse and we may see more of Major Culbert than we all anticipated. :hmmph

not what I wanted to hear, I knew Glenn is never going to be 100% but I thought he could manage the pain, but Lucky needs to stay healthy for the team, espically since we don't have any other returnee who is healthy. But it is good to see Christenson and Pederson back healthy
