Lucky, Slauson, O'leary on ESPN 2 Right Now

I think ML was one of those players who's real abilities were wasted by the Calli coaching staff. Callies main concern was at QB and trying to have one of those big seasons with a stud QB and then ride the wave back into the NFL. Unfortunately for BC you have to have a supporting cast to do that. Its a shame that Lucky and probably some others got screwed. Good luck ML, look forward to seeing you at the next level.

sorry, but that's hard to believe. Lucky's abilities, especially as a pass-catcher, were on full display last year. Where was that this year? Your claim that Callahan's main concern was at QB is unsubstantiated. His deal was with the offense, and obviously QB is a huge part of that. But we didn't have a supporting cast? Are you...kidding me?
I agree with zoogs and this isn't the first time I've run across this argument, for some odd reason. Cally may have ruined a lot of things, but one thing he didn't do is waste Lucky's ability. If anything he gave him every opportunity to showcase it. If it wasn't for Callahan's offense, Lucky wouldn't even be headed to the NFL.

I think Marlon was a great open field runner, and an above average receiver out of the backfield. He was not very good between the tackles, and never seemed to break a tackle. I loved his athleticism and glad he played well in the game, but he is a third down back at best in the NFL in my opinion.

I hope he has a long career.....

Well . . . playing 1 out of 4 downs should help the old wear and tear. <_<

After reading over the whole thread- here are my replies and thought

- Collins was a 3 star Rivals, 4 star Scout

- All of the former skers had great game

- Lucky will definetly get drafted (6th round is my pick), I am not sure if he is going to the Combine (but I think he is), if he does he should test great and greatly improve his status. I think two years from now he will be a great second back to a NFL team. He catches great which will give him a shot and over time turn into a back used for running also. The only thing I think would really help him (he might already be good, Im not an expert) is if he is a good pass blocking back.

- (He who shall not be named) did not make Lucky worse, just look at his stats between this year and last year (yes I know the injury has a lot to do with it)

- O'Leary should be a nice FA pickup if any team needs a long snapper. He did not make one error (that I can remember)at NU, I think he will be in the league for several years as a long snapper. Slauson will also be a FA and should have a legit shot of making a team.

1. Lucky is going to the combine, and in fact pass-blocking is one of his strengths.

2. It'd be interesting to see if O'Leary gets drafted in the late rounds. It's a long shot, but teams have been known to draft long snappers in the 7th round, given how important it is to have a mistake-free LS.

From ESPN boxscore:

Chase "Booger" Daniels 2/9 for 1 yard.

KC Chiefs 1st round draft choice, I tell ya

For our Clemson visitors:

KC Chiefs 1st round draft choice, I tell ya'll

I think Lucky can be an excellent back in the NFL, especially catching the ball out of the back field.
Don't worry, the Chiefs won't take Daniel, at least not early on. And judging by the 2 for 9 performance he won't even get picked. Pioli is a good GM who likes to build teams from the inside out. I'm guessing they'll take OL, DL or an LB with the 3rd pick.

Okafor IS a 3-star on both sites. But at one point he was a 4-star, on at least one site, if not both.
