Lydon Murtha

25 reps? thats terrible......does he have long arms? cuase usually people with long arms dont bench as well as others becuase of the distance they have to lift
It is absolutely NOT terrible. The guy is what, 6'7"? Tall guys usually do poorest in this event. There was a top 5 lineman a couple of years ago who got like 9 or something (I know I'm off there but it was something bad like that). Murtha getting 27 is just fine. Actually it is a very respectable number for a guy that tall. No one in the NFL will knock that number from him.

Im pretty sure just looking at the guy they know he is a strong guy, bench is a pretty skewed lift. Easy for hobbits, average for average people, and damn near impossible for basketball players or murtha in this case.

Everyone saying how good his combine was and that he moved from a low round to a mid round pick. Still has some issues with staying healthy and his run bocking they said he lets guys get under his legs to much still, but someone would take a chance on him and do some teaching. And shouldnt this be moved to Former Huskers now?

Carl Nicks is a great comparison. Undrafted free agent now a starting or rotational player with NO Saints. Playing guard not tackle and doing well. He had a lot of critics too, and his size hurt his point of attack run blocking as a tackel, his feet were questionable also and would get beat by quicker DE's....welcome to the real world where our limitations are magnified within any convenient vaccuum that is available.

Murtha hasnt been healthy very much, so maybe he is now and that allows him to show his stuff, which is obviously pretty impressive to say the least. This last year, all of our linemen got better. Some of the young guys have great upside due to better coaching. In this system linemen pull that isnt what all NFL teams require, so Murtha will get drafted by a team that can use his strengths, as opposed to drafting his apparent weakness. Its always best that the guys talent be evaluated as a holistic body to be placed in an holistic enviroment. Missing on this match between team and person always leads to disappointment.

The Big man from Alabama actually went home, apparently way overweight and out of shape. He was everyones big $ guy....but in his performance, (not caring to show up in shape) his dollars should drop big time. Mandrich performance could realisticly be forecast for him....attitude isnt enough, gotta walk the talk.

Does anyone know who he trained with after the season? I think this would speak volumes for Dobson, seeing as how Lucky went to Cali and ran mid 4.5's.

So, will this be enough to get him in the top 2 rounds? Seems like he'll be the first Husker taken. I know our OL looked a lot better when he got in there than it did at the beginning of the season.

I am pretty sure I heard on UnSC with the Kugler that he was training with Dobson in Lincoln. I believe thats what was said, and yes judging by the new look of the team, especially towards the end of the year, and the results on the field and at the combine for those lucky few it looks like Dobson is a good man to have in our locker room :koolaid2:

He has all of the physical tools to succeed in the NFL. He just needs to mentally toughen up and learn to play hurt.

I hope he gets a solid shot to play in the NFL and makes it.

25 reps is not terrible. He's 6'7"-6'8" with long arms, 25 reps is not bad.
if he didnt have long arms that would be terrible.....that K/P benched 225 24 times and ran a 4.6
yea that kid is a freakin man child tho lol i saw that video on him benching that was incredible for a kicker
