Lydon Murtha

Im glad to see that the big man did well in the combine im sure the injury bug is what the coaches are gonna be looking at

It looks like Murtha tore it up, but Slauson also opened some eyes I believe!

Hopefully this is a result of our good training they received. Can't wait to see how Lucky and Swift do.

Lets hope all those bumps and bruises he has had over his stay in Lincoln are behind him , kind of like going through all those kid illnesses when we were growing up. Good luck to the big guy. Of course hes a Husker, so I know he will be ok, :)

GBR!!!

he has been in the top 3 in 4 out of 6 workouts he has taken part in. he also was the best in 3 of those. appears to be the most consistent of the day. i dont know if he has done bench yet or not but he is not currently listed on that one.

either way he has had a very good day. maybe enough to get him into rounds 3-4? he was previously projected as rounds 5-7.
IMHO, he is still going to have to convince somebody that his body isn't the injury prone glass house that it was at Nebraska. NFL teams want guys who can play through injuries and tough it out for entire seasons, and I don't think Murtha ever made it through an entire season without being out for a few games. It's good that he's got the athleticism under control, but he is going to have to show to somebody that his body is a bend but not break.

Gees, how much do people want from him?! Top 10 in every category? It is very rare that a player comes along that can do that. The bench is built for the short arm guys with big barrel chests. They can just bounce the weights off of it.

I'd say he increased his stock by a great deal, and that's what the combine is all about.

Except the former KC Chiefs regime - evidence exhibit #1 Brody "Ow, my (fill in body part)" Croyle. He has never finished an entire year as a start since he was a sophomore - - in HS!

:yeah And short arms would not be an ideal attribute in a LT.

Kirk Barton did 34 last year and it got him a role of warming benches for the Bengals, Bears, etc. Carl Nicks tested with the OTs and did 31 but he's G for NO (and started 13 games). Same for Jeremy Zuttah who did 35, G for TB.

OTOH Some OT who were first round picks did quite a few less: Clady - 24, Otah - 27, Williams - 21. And others like Cherilus apparently didn't even lift. Of course Jake Long did 37, but that guy's a freak.

Regardless, the injury history is the limiting factor for these guys, so don't expect to hear their names until day 2 if at all.
