Malachi Coleman is out

But it's not all that far-fetched to think he thought he could contribute and was never going to get a chance because the guys ahead of him still got all the playing time even though they were barely contributing anything meaningful.  Kind of hard to not think you're just not getting a fair shake.

Yep, particularly at the wide out spot, a position I would argue is one of the easiest for a younger player to make an impact on.  

Its too bad he didnt get more of a look at the edge rusher position.  I know mickey joseph was adamant he was a receiver to help get him here but I vividly recall many scouts/recruiters saying his highest impact ceiling wise for a potential NFL career was at the edge rusher spot given his explosiveness and size.  Would've loved to see us give it a go and put him on the edge/OLB spot in 3rd and long passing downs to see what was there specially when we had no plans to play him at wide out

All of his NIL? Is that confirmed? Are you sure it’s not one of those scenarios where the multi billion dollar company gives away $100,000 an act like they did something important?

100k is something important even to a billion dollar company imo.  It doesn't have to be a huge percentage, just the fact the guy gave to a good cause is a big deal to me.

I'm having a hard time meshing the ideas of him being a walking red flag the second he landed on campus with him being so charitable and giving. It doesn't really match up for me

The red flags (for me, anyway) are all about on the field stuff. He wasn't ever wildly productive, was dinged up a lot, and didn't come with resounding endorsements on his level of effort. I haven't heard anything claiming he's not a good dude, just maybe not a motivated football player. You can be a kind, caring person and still struggle with the day to day grind this takes. I really don't know what the exact issues with him have been, but I don't see any reason some issues couldn't coexist with the positive qualities. Most people have positive and negative personality traits, and some of the ones that are very important to being a good human being have no impact on how good you are as a football player.

There were several people with Lincoln East ties that came on here shortly after the Colorado/Nebraska commitment was finally resolved.

The comments I recall were consistent.  They referenced work ethic and attitude and that they’d be surprised if it worked out.

 
Multiple sources are saying he left because he had to give up the #15 to raiola.  Every man has a point of no return and apparently that was the line in the sand for Malachi. 
 

who are the sources? The sock puppet and the guy in the handicap stall next to me in runza who had to lend me some toilet paper because my stall was out

No idea how that transpired.  BUT, I'd be pissed if I'f been here a year, played during the season and was told/advised/suggested to give up my number to a brand new guy who had yet to do anything.  Even more so when I am now a RS, we are sitting at 5-5, #15 is a INT machine, and I am not getting one chance to see the field this year.  Taking into account none of the work ethic issues, this would be another nail in the proverbial coffin. That started when I "gave up" my number.

Is it also possible that Dana was referencing Chi when he said coaches are in love with other guys?  Maybe Dana saw him practicing well and got brushed off when talking to staff about getting him involved. Just wondering...

I’m sure raiola demanded the number 15 since he walks on water and couldn’t pull of the mahomes cheesy shtickkkk routine if he didn’t have his number as well

frankly I’m in the camp the number 15 should be retired and raiola rolls with 7. 15 is sacred turf, turf that hasn’t been earned 

 
I hate the way our season is ending. Ceyair is really going to have to step up, now that Hill is done. We have to win one of these two games. We can't go yet another season without a bowl game.

Like he did last game?  If only Hill would have also stepped up last game, and any of the other single digit guys in the back end.
