Mangino Contract Extension

I'm wondering, there's gotta be a heartattack clause somewhere in there. Or else a pre-game 20 hot dog limit.

 
Not to steal the spotlight from the fat man, but did anyone else see that Mike Leach got a 5 year extension worth $2 mill/season? I read that in the paper the other day, didn't recall hearing it ever. There are 5 coaches that make as much or more than Callahan in the Big 12.

I think Leach needs to win the South to show that he deserves that kind of money. This could be the year that he does that though, since the South will be a little down and they have Texas at home.

I agree with that, I don't know too much about TT, but I think if their defense improved over last year this could be their year in the south. I know it's their first year with a young qb in a while...

 
I don't know, I would say that Leach has done more for the Tech program than what Mangino has done for the Kansas program.

 
That's alot of money (almost tripling his salary) for a coach that has a losing record (but 2 bowl games in last 3 years), pending NCAA penalties and a coach that isn't "sell-able" to other big time, traditional football colleges. I doubt most universities budgets are large enough to cover his food allowance.
