*** Matt Rhule Hired as New Husker Head Coach ***

Yeah and you should see the Hawkeye board geez
I'm sure Iowa fans have to be in full meltdown mode.  They just lost to one of the worst Nebraska teams in recent history, and 3 of their neighboring schools (NU, Wisconsin, and Illinois) have made significant hires to their head coach in the past 2 years.

for the record...  Rhule > Fickell...  JMHO
Fhuel is Rickell.......Rickell is Fhuel...........................Both of them, are men

With Fickell going to Wisky, and if Rhule is the developer we all want to believe he is, I could see a real rivalry between these two.  I wish it developed into the weightiness of the OU / Neb days of old.  Winner not just gets to a conference bid but is a front seat driver for top seed in the playoff.

A man can dream...

Iowa is pretty much done for.  They are stuck with Kirk for the long haul and he is never going to fire his son Brian.  Also sounds like the iowa AD and iowa brass are chummy friends.  The iowa ship is going down and nobody is going to do anything to correct it over there. With the new B1G TV money coming in, they have the cash to get a new AD and fire Kirk, but that will never happen.  They elevate Kirk to be some kind of legend for some unknown reason, even though he has never won a championship of any kind.  Just sad.  When you give a Headcoach an unlimited leash, you get what iowa is stuck with.

It has begun.  All of the big name coaches will be migrating to the two super conferences of the B1G and SEC given the massive pile of TV money.

Thankful TO got us out of the dying Small 12.

There’s no way Fickell will leave Ohio, everybody knows that.

What Nebraska needs is a mole in the Wisconsin athletic department….the way they’ve been in ours.

So it looks like offensively the most important stat, points per game, increased steadily each year despite fluctuations in the rushing and passing numbers. To me that screams better efficiency on offense and not just grabbing empty yards.

What I like better are the defensive stats. Rhules’s defenses definitively got better gear over year at both stops, not to mention his Carolina D was pretty salty also. Great sign to see a focus on building a strong D.

I was really hoping for Bob Devaney.

Come on Nebraska.  With all of that Big 10 money open up the coffers and figure out how to resurrect the dead!
