Maybe Missouri is left behind?

i always thought mizzou would be taken before us, because of their market.
But their fan following and viewership (TV ratings) are much lower than NU's.
but that has nothing to do with cable subscriber fee's. Home and Garden gets paid whether you are watching it or not. Alot of people dont understand what impact adding footprint states holds. at the current rates the BTN charges, MU would bring in alittle over 1.5 million a month extra just by being a member and nothing else. And like discussed in other threads, it takes 14 out of state (NON-footprint) veiwers to equal 1 in state in money made for the network.

Mu is not a national draw. But the best way to put it is, MU is good enough to not embarrass you. Strong enough to finish in the top have of your conference, but average enough to not consistently challenge your top.

Considering academics, $$$ and competitive programs, its pretty short sighted to say they bring nothing.

:yeah

From the various speculation pieces out there, it seems that Mizzou needs ND to pull the trigger in order to get them in. I could see that happening eventually. I also could see Delany capping it at 14 if ND commits. He wouldn't need to pluck any Big East or ACC teams since ND already has a big chunk of the NY market as is.

Otherwise if ND doesn't commit, then Delany will likely raid the Big East in order to force ND's hand for a 16 team conference. I also see Mizzou getting an invite in a 16 team scenario.

All kidding aside, the talk down here this morning was that ND's hand was about to be forced, as the folks in South Bend may be realizing that 1) they're not the big dog they used to be and 2) if the mega-conferences emerge, they'll be an even smaller fish. Indeed if ND says yes to the Big 10, then Missouri should have a place.

Wishful thinking on my part but it would be awesome if the Big10 picked up Oklahoma and left Missouri scratching its head. Renewing the classic Big 8 rivalry while allowing all the NU fans to have one final laugh at Missouri :laughpound Wishful thinking but still a pleasant thought.

Yea, but I'm afraid that OU by itself might not be a large enough TV draw, especially given its record from the last few years. If that wasn't the case, it wouldn't be tagging along behind the Texas schools.

The thing Mizzou has over Oklahoma is that Mizzou isn't a potential academic liability.
