So the past 2 days have resulted in the banishment of some very well-respected and well-liked posters on this board:

NUPolo8

Shawn Watson

Abdullah the Butcher

Dr. Mantis Toboggans

RotoRiot

Chaddyboxer

tschu

Now, I wasn't around during the Callahan Purges of 2007, so I'm lacking a bit of context. But I think that, when so many users get banished in such a short time frame, that perhaps a precedent should be set that there be an explanation regarding the decision.

It's come to the point where you're going to have a full-blown mutiny on hand if there isn't at least some explanation. Surely, there's some big picture thing that 99.9% of us who aren't moderators or admins are missing that we want to know about.

So, because this is pertinent to the board, I've posted this poll in the Board Feedback sub-forum.

Note: There is to be no talk here that wouldn't belong in the Woodshed. There are ways to keep this civil that I'm positive 99% of us are capable of handling.

 
By the way, you keep banning people left and right without an explanation, you risk losing members to the board, which doesn't bode well for the future of the board.

 
I would like one. I considered ShawnWatson, tschu, and Chaddy good posters and friends.

 
I am disappointed by this move. Yes, i am not a huge fan of all the posters that got the axe, but seems to me like they are taking out a lot of good posters.

I understood the NUpolo axe, but the rest seem a bit drastic to me.

 
Even Polo didn't deserve the axe from anything I've seen. Discussion is what we're here for and just cause his opinion or view wasn't the consensus doesn't mean it wasn't valued here imo.

 
What the @$ is going on around here right now??

A TON of well-respected posters just bit the dust, the rest of us are in the dark and/or angry about it, and beyond that, the malware crap.

Board quality just took a big hit this week. I too hope it's not permanent.

 
And now Marf got the banhammer.

Based on continuing actions (bannings) and explanations offered thus far, it would appear nobody gives a sh#t.

 
If you are not one of the members affected, you will not be receiving information or an explanation as to why members are banned. That goes for past, present, and future. More goes into discipline at HuskerBoard than what is simply posted for other users to see. That's all you're going to get from any moderator available.

I will be moving this thread to the Woodshed simply to keep this in line with the other discussions.
