Oh, I imagine he will struggle big time not only winning games but in recruiting. He will be recruiting against...If this happens, imagine the recruiting he can do at OSU and we'd get to play his team 1 to 3 times a year. I can see this biting us in the hind end.
Huge difference. Now, CU might also offer more in terms of "private" money, who knows...but Mac is probably taking a long hard look at this as his winning lotto ticket. The rumor i heard was that Ohio State offered $3.5M/yr. Creighton could only get up to $1.7M/yr. That's quite a difference to leave on the table if true.
There are some smug comments on elevenwarriors about this subject (just so you know... you can find many smug comments on this fine message board) but McDermott doesn't have the resume or upside for a job like OSU. Also, other than ESPN, and they have been known to get this incorrect from time to time (ask Michigan), who said that OSU offered McDermott the job? OSU did interview him for the job but that doesn't mean an offer was extended. Hiring a basketball coach at OSU isn't the same as hiring a basketball coach at other footballs schools. Ohio is a basketball talent rich state and Ohio State has a rich basketball history.Reading the posts on elevenwarrior, I hope to god he turns them down (which sounds like he will). They are so smug and it's hilarious what they are saying. They act like he already took the job.
