McKeon: Be prepared for a diminished run game

I hate it when Mckeons right. And it seems to happen so often.
Don't worry because he has gems like this that make you hate him all over again. #Melodramatic
Love the Forrest Gump stance there Mike...."Momma always said 'Stupid is as stupid does', so with that in mind let's talk about the 55points a 1-6 football team just hung on me..."

Or he cant help cuz he's 62 and has been standing for 4 hours. And/or sore from his bike ride this morning.

So, will we miss it? Probably. But if it just ran up the numbers against overmatched opponents and frequently faded away in prime time, was it even really there last year?
Exactly. Our big bad running game shrunk last year when we stepped up in competition. That's great that we hung big numbers on FAU but our numbers vs the 4 best teams we played last year (all losses) were

Michigan State: 37-47 1.3 ypc

Wisconsin: 46-118 2.6 ypc

Minnesota: 38-174 4.6 ypc

USC: 43-144 3.3 ypc

How good is a team's running game if they can't do it against quality opposition?
It's almost like they could just lean on people when playing weaker competition, but once they started playing people that were just as big as they were and had to rely on technique, they fell on their face (or rear end).
So now we just fall on our face/rear end when we play anyone with a pulse? How is this improvement or something to build a future program on again?

I never said there was going to be an improvent. Just saying what our issue was last year. And for the most part, the run has been pretty effective, when we actually decide to run the ball.
