If they're playing poorly and recognize it and even talk about it, that's one thing. But it's a whole other thing to talk about being tired, having low energy, complain about the pressure of playing college football and do it at a news conference. I'm sure tons of players get low on energy and feel down at some point during the long season but don't tell the world about it.it's probably not easy. I can't imagine how it would be to stand in a stadium where 85,000 people are booing you.
the funny thing is all of us sit here at home and complain on our little computers about defensive coaching...."Fire Coz, Fire so and so, stop letting this guy play." When the players who actually PLAY the game and actually go to practice everyday with these people are saying "stop blaming the coaching. It's us!
"He's lining us up in the right way, and we're not trusting it and doing our own thing and just playing bad,'' he said.
I'm more inclined to believe what McKeon is saying about why the defense is performing poorly than what the drunk guy in seat 13 is yelling in between his boos.
FWIW, AP writer Eric Olson previously worked for the Omaha World-Herald.....
One more thing...
Something thing that really upsets me about McKeon's comments is this - Keller didn't play for a full year and obviously he missed it. He's working his butt off and trying to lead the team. McKeon is low on energy and not having fun? Does he have any idea what he has and the opportunity he's been given? Even if he has no chance of going to the NFL, man it's his senior year playing for the U of Nebraska! Enjoy it!
Hey Corey, pull up your skirt; rub some vaseline on your feminine parts, and play some football. This crybaby sh#t is getting very very old by these players. If you can't handle the heat, then get the f**k out of the kitchen. If these numnuts really thought they'd hear nothing but cheers after allowing an opponent to put 600+ yards in our house, they must not have gotten the memo that they don't play for Baylor!
That brings up an interesting question - what is it that made the defense such whipped puppies? I don't believe it's just the poor play from the Wake Forest game and the next two games. I have to think it's more behind the scenes stuff.Corey sounds like a whipped puppy. Him and the blackshirts need to get the swagger back. I think the thing most lacking on the defense is confidence in each other, themselves and their individual assignments.
Comes from the coaches down. Guarantee it. If the coaches weren't spewing this crap to them or at least telling them to suck it up and start ballin' then the coaches are to blame. That brings up an interesting question - what is it that made the defense such whipped puppies?
