Lornell McPherson doesn’t reflect on last season the same way other football players do.
For McPherson, the memories are heavier and darker – caused by adversity beyond what any player could’ve prepared for.

During a tumultuous season off the field, changes were thrown at McPherson faster than the Nebraska senior cornerback could catch.

McPherson lost a friend, almost his mother and most of the coaching staff that had stood by him through his hardships, leaving only a dark cloud of thoughts about an uncertain future in football, a childhood friend gone, and most of all – Lula.
A very good read on Lornell. Hope he gets back for Ku.

thats a great story thanx for sharing B. man I remember during the Ku game last yr when LP flew down the day of the game b/c he was in O for his friends funeral. i believ he even had to buy his own plane tic.

In grade school, Lornell would never get into trouble and he would stay after to help out the handicapped kids. But he was a jokester, nonetheless.
seems like a great kid.

best of luck to you Lornell on and off the field.

This is a great story, and McPherson sounds like a GREAT person.. but I have to say, what a horribly written article. Seriously.. give it a try. You will have no idea half way through what the names of his Mom and his friend are, b/c his Mother is constantly referred to by her first name and in different context.. couldnt keep it straight. My mind hurt after readin that thing.. and well written articles shouldnt make you have to take notes just to follow the story.

Nonetheless best of luck to LP. Good things will find you my brother.

Give them a break, it's just a college student in training writing it.

Yes true, on the job training here. Good story about a great person. thanks for sharing. and thanks for hanging in there Lornell.

Let's talk football now, is he going to be back this week against KU?? I don't think he's a great corner, but better than Huston or whatever his name is.

Any other injury news? Washington? Carriker??
