Derek - Lincoln: How much of a shot does Nebraska have of upsetting Texas this weekend?

Mel Kiper: I don't see them beating Texas, even in Lincoln. Zach Taylor is a very accurate and tough QB and the defense can get after you. But Zach Bowman was a big loss in the secondary before the season. He was arguably their best defensive player. They are 6-1 with the only loss against USC but I don't think their talent level will allow them to win. Texas just has superior talent and should win this game. Bowman's loss was felt in the USC loss. Jarrett wouldn't have had all those catches if Bowman was in the game. So not having Bowman will be felt again against Texas.

He had Bowman going in the 1st round of the draft I think. His loss was big, but we have had 7 weeks to get used to it, so I think the guys are used to it. That said, I am still worried about them with Sweed on the other side of the ball. Our d-line is going to have to hit McCoy.

I like Mel but he also said we'd beat USC by 2 TDs.

of course that was when we had Bowman, if we had him covering Jarrett, it would have been a different game in LA.
