1. Small ball
News flash: Nebraska lacks size. Tim Miles wasn’t able to find a 7-foot, back-to-the-basket center to fill a still-vacant scholarship. Those players aren’t exactly a dime-a-dozen to begin with, but then throw in the fact that Miles won’t take just any 7-foot player, and you have a tough situation.
2. Another sellout
That Nebraska sold out season tickets last year, coming off a 2014 NCAA Tournament appearance and fourth-place Big Ten finish, wasn’t a surprise. Pinnacle Bank Arena averaged 15,569 fans, which ranked 10th nationally in attendance.
3. Big Ten guesses
Nebraska finished fourth in the Big Ten the season it was picked last, and finished 12th last season, when the Huskers were picked fourth. Clearly, the league’s beat writers threw their arms in the air and gave up predicting, the reason for no preseason poll this season.
