The thing about depth is once all the front line guys go down, which they are on pace to do, your depth goes down with em.

I'm guessing he's just trying to be a little optimistic about it. Right now a lot of guys could be hanging their heads and questioning this season before it has even started. Especially the guys we've now lost for the season, and their teammates are bummed out too. This hurts them far more than it could ever hurt us. These guys work hard to get to this point. To earn a starting spot going into fall camp, knowing you're weeks away from game time, then all that hard works goes for nothing and you have a surgery and rehab to look forward to instead. I'm still excited for the season. This just means some guys are really gonna have to step up.

This could be just one of those anomalies that affects a team and luckily it hit the Huskers now, before the season starts. Personally, I feel Rose was the biggest hit by far...dude knew how to play the run game well...can't say that for Bando right now IMO
