Michigan at Nebraska (2012 game)

I just want to be able to say that the Skers kept Shoelace in check just one time. It would really bother me if we never tripped up Denard.

I don't think so. Not only did the 1997 Michigan team have the best defense that year, they also played one of the toughest schedules in the country and won every game.

They blew out then #8 Colorado. They beat Notre Dame, blew out then #15 Michigan State, beat #15 Iowa, destroyed #2 Penn State in Happy Valley of all places, beat #25 Wisconsin at Camp Randell, beat #4 Ohio State at home, and beat #7 Washington State in the Rose Bowl.

That Michgan team a force to be reckon with.

Nebraska was a great team that year too, but they wouldn't have rolled over that Michgan team at all, not with that defense. My guess is, it would've been another slug fest between the two and would've been a very close game. Nebraska that year didn't face a defense as good as Michgan, so they wouldn't have put up the massive numbers agains them on offense, like they've done everyone else. Let's not forget that Michigan's defense was equipt to slow down option teams. Case in point, Colorado. Michigan beat them 27-3 that year.

I say that it would've been a 20-16 game if Michigan and Nebraska would've played that year.
