Michigan football team to spend spring break in Florida

I know this is going to ruffle some feathers, but it's a pretty genius idea....

Maybe Nebraska should set up shop in Calabasas.
Dunno about that...pretty lackluster list of things to do...

I mean...hell, there's no freakin' putt-putt. How the hell do you expect college kids to have fun without putt-putt golf?!?!?!
Touché.

I think that's a great idea, now that the rules have changed and the team can pick up the cost. Nebraska would be crazy to not do this also. Get out of the nasty weather for a week, do some team building, and get some valuable exposure to potential recruits.

Yup. If the ACC/SEC don't want to change the recruiting rules to allow Jr year OV's, then we'll just bring the team to the kids.

He is a crazy bastard. I love that he is getting under the SECs skin by pushing the boundaries.

Report: SEC Trying to prevent Michigan spring break practices

Jim Harbaugh Gives Kirby Smart The "I Don't Even Know Your Name, Bro" Treatment

A little while later, recently hired Georgia head coach Kirby Smart was asked about Michigan’s planned trip to Florida, and he had this to say about it (via College Football Talk):

They’re obviously trying to gain a competitive advantage, and obviously that’s their right, but I think the NCAA in due time will have to step in and keep it from getting out of hand,” Smart said. “There are a lot of factors that people haven’t thought about with that deal. You’ve got to think about recruiting rules, how they are going to handle those? Is it an advantage or a disadvantage? Are they going to let coaches go to those? Are they going to be open practices? Do we go over there and watch them and scout them? If it’s open practices, why don’t we go? It’s a Pandora’s Box of what they’re going to get into.

Obviously, I don’t want to get into it because I’d like to practice right there in our facility, and I’d also like to have the prospects in state to come to our practices, and us not have to go to them.

I hope Riley and his staff are planning something similar for 2017 right now.

It's hilarious how pissed off the SEC coaches are. Harbaugh isn't breaking any rules. If the SEC is so insecure that they don't like a Big 10 coach in their backyard, maybe they need to take a hard look in the mirror.
