Michigan Football to Travel to Rome for Spring Practice

This isn't the last trip. I am hearing rumors of South Africa, New Zealand and others. I think they have this planned for 4 years. One donor is footing the bill each year.

Pretty cool and a great idea overall. Maybe something the Huskers could do some day! A trip of a lifetime for these guys for sure

I would much rather the team stay here and focus on getting better during spring training and then pump money into programs like what Nebraska is doing with the PEO program. (post eligibility opportunities)

These programs are great programs that get kids experiences they might never be able to experience....instead of a glorified trip to practice somewhere that just benefits one program.

I wouldn't call Michigan's trip a glorified practice. Over half the team used that as a jumping off point to study abroad. Yes it was for one athletic program but it was a fun idea and I'm sure a great experience for their team. Not everything Harbaugh does is a publicity stunt, I would imagine this trip had real value for his guys.
