NU will suffer 3-4 turnovers and numerous silly and/or ref's phantom penalties against us. Plus Husker Curse is alive and well ....

Ernest will become MVP ???

Honestly I don't see much of any of that. What painful things may occur would have to do with frustrations trying to get into the end zone for a TD but settling for FGs several times. Those may be our only scores. So hope for a lot of them. I do think we can go down field on Michigan repeatedly, especially in the 2nd quarter and hopefully the 2nd half too. I don't get it on predicting "silly" penalties, etc. Where's that coming from? And turnovers? Why?

One thing we will have to do and I’m not sure I’ve seen it, is really be aggressive at the point of attack. Both offensive and defensive lines have not been as physical as I would like to see. We don’t get that push we need. Pass pro, we are ok. Running the ball against an aggressive defense will be tough. Stopping the run with this 3-3-5, gives me heartburn. I hope we can do it. But I feel we will get gashed a few times. I’m hoping for a tight win. But this game will show us what we have.

GBR!!!

Unfortunately, we will get gashed by Michigan’s run game. Cincinnati’s o-line size compared to our d-line was staggering.

Our receivers will struggle to get open and Raiola will be left with checkdowns.
Look it up. The size difference was minimal. You are going off perception. We feel small this year because we aren't oversized like last year. Last year was abnormal and our line this year is actually average for the B1G.

Michigan's O and D line didn't even manhandle Cental Mich lines. Will MI get some chunk plays? Probably. The defense just needs to tackle and flock to the ball and they will be ok. I think the O can dink and dunk all the way down the field. I dont think MI secondary is all that great

Not to interrupt the conversation, but this is interesting. Unofficial quote (verbal) from "Steve the tight end guy" (Steve Casula I presume as I look at the Michigan staff list): "Heck no worries.. we've got a good game for these guys. There's nothing there, really. They almost got beat by Cincy and then they ran over two high school teams for the most part. It'll be a quiet stadium when we're through there."

I have googled around and found nothing. I'd like for somebody here to substantiate it some way. My source is a cable and satellite tech ("broadcast engineer") with an agency in New York who was "moving things around" on the Michigan university campus. It's 3rd party; he heard it from the staffer this Steve was supposedly talking to. Does anybody here know of the tight ends coach at Michigan and anything about him?

If you gamble, I just don't see how you can NOT take Michigan in this game.

Because I am an NU fan I will be taking NU and probably NU first Quarter, which should be something like NU +.5.

I might wait for a live line, assuming if Michigan scores first, so I can grab NU +9 or so.

No offense, but what game where you watching? I agree about their secondary, I think we can run the ball ok and pass the ball pretty well. But Michigan absolutely manhandled both of CMU's lines. We are much better on the lines than CMU, but not as good as Oklahoma.

I do really like the MGoBlog guys, but I do think it's a shortcoming that they chart one game per opponent. I know we haven't learned much by beating up on Akron/HCU, but I do think using the first game of the year is inherently grading most players at their worst. So I do think they're underselling us to some degree, but I am absolutely worried about holding up on defense.
