Michigan -- How Does NU win?

On the road at the Big House. I don't think I am alone in thinking that Michigan may very well turn into NU's bitter and disparaged rival.

1. Can NU contain D Robinson? Is he healthy?

2. How does NU attack Mich offensively?

3. How are Mich's special teams?

4. Statistically the teams match up pretty well -- though Mich leads the Big 10 in fewest penalties. (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/ncaa/stats/2011/divia/conference/big10/team/index.html)

I honestly haven't seen much game tape of Mich. I think the Offense will need to perform very solidly in order to protect the defense.

1. I've never seen Denard have a good game against a good defense. Yes, he is healthy.

3. They are OK. Good punter, mediocre kicker. Kick/punt coverage is so-so.

Denard has thrown 13 TD with 13 INTs

If we can get pressure on him and get in his head with some creative blitzes, we should be able to force him to throw some more INTs.

It'll be interesting to see if NU implements the same defense it used against Virgina Tech a couple of years ago. Not sure that we have the same DB talent to cover for 5-7 seconds like we were able to then, but denard's feet scare me. If he doesn't beat us with his feet, I wouldn't be surprised to see NU win by a couple of touchdowns.

1. Take out Fisher & Compton. They are to slow to contain D-Rod. Make David play spy on D-Rod. Play Martin at DE.

2. Run the edges. Lots of option & zone read plays. Mix in a few med pass plays to strech the field.

3. I differ to GoBlueM - not that fimilar with their special teams.

4. We have very similar teams, but we have the better Special Teams. Our Defense is better then theirs when they show up.

Michigan only plays as good as D-Rod. He is the 2nd best duel threat QB in the Nation (RG3 is the best)

Short answer: Get ready for a shoot out.

Of course Bo could surprise us with a creative scheme on defense ala MSU but assuming that does not happen....... this game is ALL on Beck and TMagic/Rex.

And of course, keep Kinnie on the sidelines.

These teams are nearly mirror images of each other. We have almost identical rankings on the major offensive and defensive categories.
