We can barely punt the ball past the LOS. Not sure why we think we can spot punt it (yes I know it was a different punter, but yeesh).

That didn't surprise me since it looked like the punter just about fell down on the punt. I was expecting another 7 yard shank but instead saw it sail to the side of the field with no coverage.

The offense is inability to score points is a glaring issue that needs to be corrected. I don't know what you do to correct that because it seems like everybody on the offensive side of the ball needs to go and if that is the case then we need to hire a new offensive staff and keep chinander

Do you think that you're going to win a lot of games when you can't score 21 points oh, I understand the special teams play is what essentially lost us the game but our offense needs to find a way to put more points on the board

Maybe the offense did enough but you can't expect a defense to perform like that consistently. We do need to figure out how to put more points on the board.

Up seven with the ball, their Defense tired. We needed to go down and score. We didn't and Special Teams made it special for the fans yet again.
The O was not good.

The last 2 weeks the o did enough to win. In both scenarios another aspect lost. Offense/defense/special teams.
special teams screwed the offense over. We’re discussing the botched punt….. what about the fact that their punter literally punted it inside our 10 every single time because we don’t have the ability to Field a damn punt!!!! Our special teams put our offense behind the 8 ball every single series.

Uhhhh, Nebraska lost because their special teams. A punt return for a TD there? Unforgivable. If this happened in the NFL, the special teams coach would be fired on Monday.
Nebraska pays their head coach millions of dollars. The assistants all make several hundred thousand dollars a year. Do you mean none of those guys can coach special teams to be just neutral? Why do they have to literally cause NU to lose games?
When NU misses a bowl game for the 5th straight season, think back to how the special teams lost this game. How they cost the Illinois game. How they kept NU from a shot at upsetting OU.
It’s simply incredible that one aspect of a football team can completely ruin a program. Nebraska’s special teams have ruined this team.

Don’t disagree about our “special” special teams but 16 and 20 points from the offense is not enough when you lose. Those anemic numbers are only enough when you actually win. O line is a joke and our red zone offense is pathetic.

The Oline was getting destroyed a lot tonight. But, they did enough to put NU up 7 with less than 4 minutes to go. They were about to turn the game over to the most dominant unit on the field tonight - the NU defense.
All we have to do is execute one of the most fundamental, mundane plays in the game of football - a punt. Hell, the 7 yard punt out of bounds would have been enough to win the game. But no; our guy kicks it left when coverage was running right. Yet another kick return for a TD against NU. Another game lost because NU special teams literally undermine everything good that other units have done.
I know special teams is not easy. But It sure as hell is not as hard as Nebraska makes it look.
