Michigan: What did we learn

I might be in the minority but that game gave me hope. That was a legit top ten team and we were right there with them. One fumble at the worst possible time and a bad decision to not take the 3 points on our first drive. Those two things were the difference. 
 

The offense and play calling in the first half were not ideal and we got hosed by the officials every time we turned around. It hurts but we are so close to flipping the script on so many of these close losses. I don’t know when we’ll make it over that last hurdle but for the first time in a long time we can play with anybody on our schedule. Thats not claiming any kind of a moral victory but it is a fact. We are on the doorstep.

Well Iowa is better than Michigan so that will be difficult.  Wisconsin still has good coaching and can turn their season around.  The only 2 likely wins are Purdue and Minnesota but I struggle trusting this staff and team in any game anymore.  

Wisconsin has a good coaching staff? When did they hire new coaches?

Sucks because I feel like AM had really turned the corner on game management.

But he pretty much gets an F in game management today for that mistake alone.

Iowa’s defense is a turnover causing machine.  We have a player that has led the nation in TOs for the last 2 years.  Do the math. 

And their offense can’t capitalize on said turnovers.  Stop the run….

I’m hoping the coaches work to get the ball in other playmakers’ hands at the end of games as the season progresses.

Because even if Martinez comes back…I dunno…do we want him to next year? 

If some big time name is in the portal I think Scott has to cut his loses and ask AM to move along.

Also, it’s looking likely that 5-7 will get teams bowling. So is our academic rating (or whatever they use to judge) good enough for that?

Chryst is 58-22 at Wisconsin.  I would gladly take that over 15-24 or whatever Frost's record is now.  Wisconsin is having an off season for them, but I would not count them out from finishing 2nd in the West division.

Well we lost by only 3 how did they refs cost us points but not lose the game for us?

Hey remember that time Frost went for it on 4th and 2 instead of kicking the chip shot?

That Frost is doing just enough to justify keeping his entire staff in tact for one last “Sh!t or get off the pot year”.  Not sure how I feel about that.

Smothers should have been in last two series to give our team a chance
