Middle Tennessee @ Nebaska 9-2 ?????

bluesmoke

Walk-on
heard some talk from mtsu insiders that nebraska was a possible replacement for our game we lost vs vandy

vandy proably was glad not to play us again since middle has beat vandy at vandy the last three games

Are you sure you're not blowing BlueSmoke? :smokin J/K

I haven't heard this, but would only leave us with what, 2 games to fill?

The only confirmed dates are USC (9/16) and Troy on 9/23. That leaves 2 non-conference games for 9/2 and 9/9. What date was your MTS game with vandy?

How come other teams have their scheduels booked for years, and NU doesn't?
is it something ot do with the big 12?

Or am I just misinformed
Troy for example playing FSU, Miami, Texas, USC..etc is different then playing Nebraska because those schools are in hotbed recruiting areas Nebraska isn't, so it's harder to get teams like Ohio St, Florida, Georgia, LSU to come to Nebraska because they see no benefit in it for them

Pederson is to busy trying to get money instead of book some decent teams. That and he doesn't want to play any one to good.

Of course, that's why we're playing USC.

Yeah, USC is really a pushover..... We should be playing a major power, like one of those dynamic mac teams.... Hey, i heard that Ohio hired Frank Solich, and is know contending for the national title. We should play them! That would be a real challenge.

Pretty much every major team that isn't trying to build a reputation will schedule one or two patsies as a warm up for their marquee non-conference matchup. The money that MTSU will get will probably help keep their program afloat. Also, just scheduling one more home game will likely keep other NU athletic programs going too, like maybe the swimming and diving or bowling programs. Not a huge game for the football team, but IMO the athletic department doesn't lose a thing by scheduling this game this coming season.

I for one am not going to complain as long as we keep one major power on our schedule. The more home games the better I say. If we take care of our business and play the way we are capable of playing, than the rest should take care of itself. No big twelve team has ever gone undefeated and not made it to the title game, so i am not worried about that ever happening.
