Wow, what a mess. All this time I thought the Badgers were the best team, hands down. I thought Wisc losing to Mich State was a fluke. Now tOSU squeaks by them too, so I guess it's a trend. I still think the Badgers are the best B1G 10 team when playing at home. Camp Randall is brutal. But could they come into Memorial and beat us? I doubt it. Could we beat tOSU or Sparty in their houses? I dunno, maybe--we'll never know. But we find out in a couple weeks whether we can take Joe Pa at Happy Valley. To be honest, I'm more concerned about the Vulvarines in the Big House. Right now I'd say we're looking about as good as anyone in this crazy conference race.
Until some team emerges in November, I'd say the B1G race is too close to call just yet. But that's never stopped me before, so here goes my attempt at a 2011 midseason ranking:
1) Huskers: we beat two teams that beat Wisc. Maybe that overcomes the Camp Randall beatdown. Maybe.
2) Wisconsin: That just went 0-2 in the last two weeks
3) Michigan St: We exposed them in Memorial yesterday.
4) Ohio State: Just now emerging from the haze of scandals
5) Michigan: I'm not convinced yet. How can a guy play without his shoelaces tied?
6) Penn State: Nice record. Just don't spoil it by playing someone.
7) Illinois: Most erratic team in the conference. Maybe the nation.
8) Iowa: Ha ha!
9) Northwestern: More dangerous than advertised. If Persa is on.
10) Purdue: See above. Except with no Persa.
11) Indiana: Basketball school that also plays football.
12) Minnestota: Jerry Kill has his hands full trying to put lipstick on *this* pig.
