Minnesota Post-Game Pressers

Whipple should have noticed to go with Smothers the entire 2nd half.  If not sooner (2nd quarter with a nice lead) and just run, run, run the ball.

Pretty sure Whipple was a Scott Frost hire, as was Mickey.  It's not like Whipp will turn everything he wants to do over to an interim coach.

This staff has seen their fate and the writing on the wall since 9/11.  No matter what they do or do not do collaboratively. 

This year ended after Georgia Southern game, and there is nothing that any current coach on this staff can do about it but to play through this season.  Even with backup Qbs against Illinois and Minnesota.  

It does not matter if some people (including yours truly) likes Mickey.  We all know he won't be the man next year (or after Iowa game).

To borrow from stock trading vocabulary, this comment seems to be a sort of “bottom indicator” for me. Meaning that it basically can’t go any lower than this.

Probably time to go long on the ‘skers (but the payout of course will take years).

The worst thing about all of this is that the coaches still aren't using the appropriate language regarding Purdy and Smothers.  Smothers has been disrespected since the Iowa game last year and while Casey Thompson is clearly the right guy when he's healthy, it breaks down quickly after that.

The Purdy performance against MN was allowed to happen after a similarly dreadful 3-of-8 passing for 15 yards and an interception game against Illinois and plenty of information leading up to the Int.

Seriously, is there anyone on this forum who didn't expect Purdy to keep failing spectacularly up to that interception against MN?  Their defense kept dropping his wobbly lobs thrown into questionable zones, who thought they wouldn't finally come up with one?

It was pretty obvious after the first quarter Purdy was going to throw a pick, and in all likelihood that would cost us the game.
