Minnesota: What Did We Learn?

If there isn’t a mid season change of OL coach then we know who really runs this team - Dylan’s Dad. Well at this point he can take the show with him to another team if we continue with these results. He can take his brother and his 2 QB sons and all of the strings they have wrapped around the program.
At this point I really question Dylan’s 5 star rating- outside of the occasional great pass, it isn’t translating to P4 level. Much of his stats are based off of the short passing game. But again it may not be translating due to his uncle’s coaching.

Huskers need fast developing plays on offense. Get it to the RB & short WR passes like the ones Hunter took to the house the last two games. Sacks are drive killers whether it is the o-line or Dylan's fault.

This team looks like it will tank like the last two years in the 2nd half of the season when better coached teams start playing better. I expect only 1 to 2 more regular season wins.

I don't have much hope for the defense when they are giving up 98 yard drives to an inferior team with a normally bad running game. They still take some awful angles in the secondary and some bad tackling.

I don’t see much more upside to this team- I think they’ve peaked and were probably more lucky than good.

But I also think we’ve got two wins left, so I’m going to keep watching.
You had me until the end.

I really think I’m done. I’ve stayed through all of this.

College football, or even Nebraska football, doesn’t appeal to me like it once did. I can’t remember who’s on our roster. We have a .500 Coach that is brilliant on camera but can’t win at football. Indiana is good, but we have to get penalties or just enough big plays to make bowl eligibility. WE ARE NOT at the performance level of Minnesota or Iowa. I just can’t take another Iowa loss this year. It’s coming. Iowa will make this offense look stupid. I’m going to find something else to do.

Will see if I recover by next Saturday, but I think I’m taking a break.

Rant over.

As was already pointed out, we didn’t learn what we said we learned last week:

You summed it up 2 weeks ago IIRC. With a MOBILE QB or AA caliber RB, Dana will run. If not.....you et the crap show we saw last night. The worst OL in the B1G and possibly FBS and Dana continues to POUND that square block into the round hole. He can leave with Donnie as well.

Where is/was the quick passing dink and dunk game. Ant run plays to punish that aggressive D. 2 back sets to give an extra blocker....

I really think I’m done. I’ve stayed through all of this.

Well, I'm with them until I draw my last breath. But I admit that a portion of that loyalty is because of annual donations to the program and to the university that my wife and I make. There was a time when we did not think of that as an incentive to our ongoing fan-ship; it was all about just being Huskers. Things have changed a little bit of late.

I learned I was fooled. Rhule is a great salesman, but failed to deliver last nite.

Appears the desire to keep Dylan (by keeping Donnie) has doomed the Rhule experiment. Tom Brady with Gronk, Edleman and Amendola with this line would look horrible. I "feel" Dylan could be good, but with our OL he looks slow, processes slow, looks down receiver and has no mental clock. If Donie leaving means he leaves I am good with that. I like a mobile QB.

D was embarrassed all night night. Poor angles, missed tackles, no pressure, no fire and no clue. Coaches or talent?

16 to runs to 38 passes (per post from @Mavric). Dana and his BS speak about running to help Dylan, wish I'd run EJ 2 weeks ago.....And that stat.. He can pack his air raid O and leave.

Rhule has some decisions to make. I am all N with more NIL, BUT that comes with firing some guys.

Teams continue to beat us by copying Nebraska playbook form old. Physical, disciplined, relentless.....We need to find a coach that wants to simply recreate the wheel. It wasn't ever broke. Don't fix it. Embrace it.

I learned the Minnesota program is tougher & more disciplined than the Nebraska program. I learned Fleck works the refs much better than Rhule. Also, apparently back means head & neck in Minneapolis.

I haven't seen a NU FS whiff this many tackles since Willie Amos played at Folsom field. I don't recall Buford being such a poor tackler prior to this season.

The O-Line is abysmal in pass pro. Blind faith ain't gonna make it better as an OC.

NU has 2 QB guru's on staff and they don't seem to have an issue with DR throwing fades & 9 routes off his back foot. I can't wrap my head around this.
