Missouri Game

So that is the topic. What are let's say 3 keys to pulling this one off. I'd say it's constant pressure on Chase, forcing turnovers, and winning the time of posession battle. What do you think the keys are to Nebraska being able to win? Do you think it is even possible?
Tell Chase he has a bunch of boogers in his nose. Maybe he'll get distracted enough trying to dig for nose nuggets he'll forget to play

1. Unleash Helu

2. No turnovers by Nebraska

3. Get at least 3 turnovers from Missouri

bonus coverage:

4. sack Daniel at least 3 times

5. Nebraska rush defense must contain.

6. Hagg on Maclin

Keys to keeping it close against Mizzou:

1) Get pressure with front four; drop everyone else into coverage

2) Be physical with Coffman...don't just let him get off the line and get open

3) Kick away from Maclin

Keys to me not losing my sanity this Saturday:

1) Lots of beer

2) Friends watching the game with me

3) Good food

Really, there is not a chance in h3ll of it happening so why waste the time even thinking about it.
That's the Big Red spirit I've grown to love. <_< :bang

Why should we even show up Saturday this game is already a loss there really is no need to play it. :madash :sarcasm

I drove from California to see these two games, back and forth from Missouri for both, if I do not think we have a chance that is my right, you choose to drink the Kool Aid, I don't. I saw what I need to make my choices. I will be there supporting the team, cheering standing and yelling for any positive that might take place. But to say I think we will win is not realistic in my mind. I see absolutely no way it can happen, but I do know that SC lost to Stanford, Oregon State, Florida to Ole Miss. So I know it can happen, but if you want to bet your house on it, I would recomend against it. I know if I was betting I would be dropping a whole lot of money on Missouri and if I was wrong, be very happy about it.

So if I don't go around preaching how we are gonig to get killed I'm a kool-aid drinker? :koolaid2: :bs: I just don't get how anyone wants to admit that their team is set up to fail. Does it boost the ego if they lose, make you Lee Corso? :dunno I guess I just don't get it. Will you really be supporting the team when you go in saying we are dead from the get go? That makes your cheers kind of lame and false if you ask me. "GO BIG RED but we don't have a chance in hell." :madash

What ever though, Last year it was "give Billy C. a chance I really believe he is the man for the job" then it was "I'm done now that Pelini has been hired. I won't travel to any more games", and now it is "Bo is the man to take us to where we need to be but he needs time and along the way we are going to get killed by any good team" <_< :nanalama

Sure the cards are stacked against us but come on. Any team can lose on any given day (except the 94-95 Big Red). Mizzou is beatable and maybe I'm dreaming but until they come in here and actually win I'm not ready to rub their junk and say how wonderful they are. Crap even Coz beat them both times they came to Lincoln. That's right Coz. :moreinteresting

:boxosoap :rant

I sat in my basement in Omaha, drove to Hy-Vee, might drive to Lincoln for Mizzou, ate some Pizza, talked to my kids, drink a couple sodas, fed my dog, kissed my wife, hung out with my mom, went outside, so if I think we CAN win on Saturday that is my right. Man that pizza was good. :dunno

Okay here's the deal.

I bet posting on the board for one month. A ban for the loser.

I say it will be by more than a 20 point loss. You say the Huskers win.

Who ever loses the bet has no access to the board.

I would bet money, but I do believe that is against the board rules.

If you truly believe what you write then you will put up or shut up.

The ball is in your court.

It is easy to talk about how loyal you are and how devoted you are until it actually means something.

Money, or silence which ever. I have stated 20 points. Better than the bookies are giving.

Just bare in mind if you do not accept this, then I do not want to hear about being a poor fan for not supporting my team. Your inablity to wager in my mind shows lack of faith in what you are saying.

I'll take that bet. Crap I'll give you my username, password and all my wonderful husker bucks. I'll leave forever will you do the same when we win?

No matter what happens on Saturday it won't change my view on people that predict that "their" team is going to lose. :bang So sure I will take that bet.

Mark it down, take a picture of the screen, whatever needs to be done, I get 20 points and I'll put up my ...............gulp.............right to post on this wonderful board.

They are going to move the ball, we have to hold them to FGs. Then we have to RUN THE BALL. Don't give me this, "what have you seen" crap either.

What had you seen out of Oregon St. that made you think they could run straight up the middle against USC?

Put somebody that will lead block in at fullback and hand the f'ing ball off to Lucky/Helu until they stop it.

Don't be cute in the passing game, don't try to run midirection, run it at them. Mizzou has struggled stopping the run for years, lets see if we can take advantage of that.

When you do throw the ball, use the backs. Screen plays work well against Mizzou because they are used to flying upfield b/c they are usually far ahead.

Chase Daniel struggles under pressure, but it is hard to get. Unlike what many said on here, blitzing can be suicide against a good spread offense. You must stunt upfront and use secondary to blitz, LB don't work well b/c you can't get there soon enough. Its about well timed run blitzes to put them in long down and distance. Then you can keep them in front, but you have to tackle well.

It can be done, but it is going to take a nearly perfect game. No more than one mistake, and some great individual efforts in all three phases of the game.

Man, it would be awesome, though!

Fair enough, I take your word for it.

Stop by the tailgate and we can shake on it before the game if you like. I will have a beer there for you.

Trust me it would be one of the happiest days of my life to see Nebraska win this game.

:thumbs
1. Nebraska will need to play it's best game on both offence and defence.

2. MU will have to play uninspired football.

3. Ball bounces and ref's go Nebraska's way.
