thought I'd lay an egg in the recruiting forum, of which I usually avoid.

Todays Shatel column bid farewell to Mitch Sherman:

Kudos and well wishes go to Mitch Sherman, who is leaving The World-Herald after more than a decade of great work on the Husker football and baseball beat. Mitch is headed to ESPN.com as a senior writer who will help the site’s new focus on college football recruiting. Looks like rivals.com will be getting a new, um, rival.

This is great for ESPN, now they need to stop hiding things in the "insider" section and charge advertisers more instead. I think most people dont sign up for insider/rivals/scout just because they know they can get the info for free in a few minutes anyway. Open it up, get more ads, get more hits on your page and make more money.
