undefinedYeah your right 5-2 is just horrible. I guess we should just not play the remainder of our games then! Your such a joke!
:yeah I have to agree with blackshirtguru on this one, Former you are a joke trying to say this team has been horrible all season is assinine. I could picture you during the game sitting in your living room with Benard, cheering on Mizzoo so you could come on the message board and say how horrible this team is. where is the support FF.
He's the same fool who thought Iowa St's offense was better then Nebraska's. The same team that got whiped at home by Baylor. If that doesn't tell you how much he's just trying to F with you people, i don't know what is.

Screw the Worst Coast Offense, give me the spread option any day.
You make a great point, but there aren't that many Brad Smith's out there.
There may not be many Brad Smith's out there, but there are not very many Matt Leinart's out there either. Pick your poison trying to find an awesome running QB or an awesome throwing QB. All I know is that when NU has had great success, we didn't seem to have a problem getting a player like BS into a red and white uniform (TF, Berringer, Crouch, Newcombe, Frost). Now, it seems we can't get anything other than a Wake Forest reject into one.

It's amazing how things change. 10 years ago, everyone wanted a QB like Marino in the Pro's. Now, everyone wants a Vick or McNabb type QB. One that not only can pass, but can and will beat you with his legs. Seems like we're beginning to see more and more of that in college as well. Look at the top 3 teams in the country. Texas and VT both possess QB's that can and will punish you with those legs just as often if not more than with their arm. Florida State has a freshman QB that is good and fast enough to play receiver as well. This seems to be the direction rather than having a tree stump back there.

Pardon me, but that's a pretty heartless thing to say about a guy who is trying his best to please unthankful fans like yourself.

If you didn't notice, he was getting hit over and over again while staying in the pocket and either delivering the ball on some fantastic plays, or getting his a$$ planted in the turf because the pocket was collapsing on him (due to an insufficient OL).

Pretty hard to scramble out of something that is coming from your blindside.

You go learn a WCO playbook, strap on the pads and deliver to "critical" fans like yourself on a Saturday.

Yeah, that's what I thought.

I Have seen on the okie board they wish they would have gottenb that wake forest reject, so they could have broken in bomar! But to each his own!

I probably deserve that, but I didn't mean for it to sound quite that harsh. Fact, Taylor left Wake because he didn't see a chance to play there. Maybe I'm wrong but I think Taylor was recruited to be nothing but a bandaid until Beck could be groomed. Taylor has played well this year despite having an inept OL. We know he's tough. I'm just saying that we're not having outstanding passing QB's fall at our feet like we once had outstanding running QB's fall at out feet. However, we won't know until Beck actually starts playing.

Other than a few rejects (Mike Grant), NU had quite a few gamers like Mizzou's BS. When Brad Smith has been at his best was days like Saturday. When Brad Smith has been at his worst is when inept Pinkel tried to make him into a drop back passer. If you watched some of his passes, they weren't very good. In the first quarter, he hit a fairly long pass. The receiver was wide open, but he had to stand there for quite a while and wait for the ball to come to him giving the defender a chance to get there. Had the ball been thrown better, it was a sure touchdown. BS will make it into the pros if for no other reason than because he's 6'2 and runs a 4.3 40. However, I highly doubt many teams will even think about drafting him to be a QB because he just isn't a good enough passer.

I agree I don't think Smith is a great passer either. But when you give him 5-6 seconds to get the ball off and his receivers are open by 5-10 yards it makes him look exceptional. In the second Quarter when we brought some pressure his throws were one-hoppers or floated over the head of his receiver.

Damn Former , you know how to piss a group off in a hurry. I personaly expect the opinion that you express. You have explained to me in pm why you have that opinion. You are entitled to it man.

Hmmmm...the top three rated quarterbacks in the NFL are Rothlesberger (sic), Brady and, if I remember correctly, Palmer. All three traditional strong-arm pocket passers...

Also, if you dont go to NU games, then your opinion doesnt count and no one cares what you say.

Glad to hear it, cause Ive been to a couple of games this year, the guys on here will vouch for me :thumbs

Actually, Im the guy who said that Barneyball is more interesting to watch than the WCO, IMO, not that it is necessarily a better system. YOURE the fool who doesnt understand that :dumdum

If you think that billy c. ball is so much better, check the stats, NU and ISU are very close in yards and scoring, with ISU having the edge. We've proven you wrong, again

Just think what Brad Smith could do if he had the O-Line and Running Backs Brook, Tommie, and Frost had. The guy is a stud now and he has never had a big time back beside him.

Would Frost of been a Stanford reject?

You're right. But considering that this is our first year recruiting under Callahan and we landed Taylor as a fill-in (if you want to label him as such), and Beck as something to work with in the future, I think the Big Red faired pretty well.

We won't have outstanding pocket passers dropping in our laps quite yet, we still have some national "proving ground" to cover before we attract the same attention we did as a run oriented team.

Something else to think about:

If Taylor had a couple of more seconds of protection I think some views of his ability would be more optimisitc.

He has proven to me what he can do when given the time. Now if the O Line can get it together we wouldn't be too shabby on Saturdays. ;) :thumbs

Don't mean to stir up a hornet's nest, but you do realize that by purchasing 2 tickets this year you have delivered the message that you are Nebraska Cornhusker supporter, a Steve Pederson supporter and a supporter of what is going on at the University? In their eyes, on the bottom line, they see your dollars, they see you as a supporter, simple as that. I know you complain and complain and complain on here, but if you really want to do some good about what you think is wrong here, then don't go to the games and don't buy new Husker gear.

:yeah Perfect example of why I dont do pro. Wont give them a dime.

Absolutely I realize that, but sometimes you have to go with your heart, even if it means going against your head. I love the gameday atmosphere in Lincoln as much as anybody, it is so intoxicating :wasted

Its a catch-22: you want to support the team you have supported all your life and you have grown up with, the one you spent every Saturday afternoon with, and you cried for after huge losses. You miss the one that had given you so much pleasure, and mixed in a little heartache. Its hard to make a clean break, and you absolutely HATE seeing it crumble, but at the same time you loathe those who run it.

You want so badly to support the program, the players, the traditions that once made it great, but to do show supposedly shows support to those whom you feel have betrayed your trust and loyalty, who have been self-serving and egocentric, and who have embarrassed, divided, and have almost detroyed it.

As a fan, what do you do????????
