Possibly.  But only one game back of the Braves.  Eight games back of the Phillies.  We do play the Phillies a bunch down the stretch but it's MUCH easier to catch the Braves at this point.

The Mets need the Braves to keep losing BECAUSE they play the Phillies so much.  The Braves have a much easier schedule than NYM to finish.

Mets beat up on the phils,  braves overtake them for the division and Mets get 3rd wild card spot. My thinking was very sound.

 
Pitch clock rules and pick-off rules definitely contribute here, however....

He is on track to become the 1st player in MLB history to - 50/50 !!!

I mean, of all MLB players that play or have played, I never saw this happening, including from Ohtani.  But here we are, and he is amazing. He is becoming the greatest with Mantle, Mays, Aaron, Ruth, etc, etc.,)

Hit some home runs, steal some bases, do some pitching,  and enjoy some Japanese Cuisine - I love it !!!!!

The race for the final 2 wild card spots in the NL is nuts. Three teams within 1 game of each other. Two of them may or may not have to play a doubleheader on Monday against each other.
