MLB 2026

I'd hate to be a Mets fan right about now.
The Mets are trying hard to be the Dodgers with their payroll, but haven't quite figured it out. As a fan of a team in their division, I get a chuckle out of them trying so hard but not having any luck. I will admit I tuned into their last game last year just to watch them miss the playoffs. 😅

Isn't Mav a Mets fan?

:(

Really hate to see Pete go. Maybe even more because he's my son's favorite player.

It's been trending that way for awhile. And it's good for him to get that big of a contract. But it's pretty sad right now.

They are going to spend on someone. Or someones. So there will be better news. But losing three of the most-loved players in a couple weeks is tough.

Hate to see him not be a NY Met. However, I had a gut hunch it would eventually happen. But even so, I am glad he is with the O's. He's 31 and only 135 homers shy of 400. Playing at Baltimore well get him there quickly and beyond. I've always been a fan of Pete.

I actually had slightly more hope when they traded Nimmo and Diaz signed with the Dodgers. I was hoping the Nimmo trade helped alleviate the "we need to better on defense" quest they're said to be on (to some extent) and Diaz leaving might have freed up some money they might have to spend.

But we're apparently in full-on reconfigure mode.

If our plan is to play Vientos as first and he doesn't regain his 2024 hitting form, this will really be a flop.

You will get defense from our good bud, Marcus Semien. You will also get 800+ swinging strikes and foul balls, 500 strikes taken, and just 130 strike outs. Plus plenty of home runs pulled down the left field line, or nothing. So that's not too bad I guess.

As for Pete, I feel bad for you. He is a NY City stud out of LSU and represented the Mets well. But you got a few amazing All-Star MVP players still.

I hope yall have a great year no matter what. And in the last game of 2026, with the season on the line, I hope Kyle Schwarber hits a solo home run and the Phillies beat you. 😆😆

Pete was born and raised in Tampa and attended the University of Florida.
