Just wanted to let everyone this board that has not heard, Monte Engebritson died on Jan. 26, 2006 after fighting cancer for 13 years. He was a 3 time letter winner at NU from 1980 to 1983. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1979.
He was a true Husker, he walked on at NU, and played on 2 awesome teams (82 and 83) that only lost 2 games. He played TE.
I just found out this after noon when my brother, who graduated with him, called to let me know.
He was living in Blacksburg, VA at the time.
My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
