Morning Statistics

I'm bored at work and feeling unproductive so here are some morning stats for you regarding the 2014 class. I was pondering how well the staff could fill this class out. Out of the Rivals Top 250, 30 are currently listed as uncommitted. Rivals indicates that 2 of these players have interest in Nebraska. For comparison value, 9 are showing interest in Ohio State. Let's just say I hope the recruiting services have it wrong this year and Nebraska has found some sleepers.

Can you give us some more info regarding these 30 uncommitted prospects? Do we have need of the positions they play? In a vacuum this information doesn't mean a lot, and the comparison to Ohio State doesn't tell me we've done good or bad.

Or that they're even going to pick Ohio State. It just means they have an offer and haven't ruled out OSU yet.

My thoughts were brought to this after reading an article about the program in the LJS in which they were pondering if Nebraska was going to be able to make a big splash before signing day. I wondered if we were still, "in on," any top recruits remaining. It seems there are two.

everyone's fair game until signing day.

This...unless a recruit tells you not to contact them anymore. Then it gets a little creepy.

But....But.....Brett Bielema said that the Big Ten conference didn't do that.......wait......where is he at again?

It seems we go through this every year. People get so wrapped up in rankings from recruiting sites. The only thing that matters is the coaching staff getting the players they want. f#*k Rivals, Scout or any other recruiting site.

The problem is when you don't get the players you wanted and you are constantly taking your third or fourth choice.

I believe 3 years ago the #1 and #2 teams rated on Scout were FSU and Auburn
Yep. And Georgia was #4.
