Most Boneheaded Play Since 2000

Only one play came to mind immediately and that was LeKevin Smith

Jesus that was brutal and idiotic

This thread reminds me of some things my mind must have voluntarily let go of............now it's all coming back again. Damn those Osborne teams were so f'ing well coached. You just didn't see a lot of this boneheaded kind of nonsense before 2000 did you? Or has my mind just voluntarily blocked out those plays too?
Berringer throwing an interception from Miami's two yard line. It's just not as memorable or important when we win the game.

I just got to throw that whole last series on defense vs Virginia Tech. to get beat deep like that...

The Fake Punt call in the bowl game against Auburn... Not that I was ever on board with Callahan, but that sealed my total dislike of the situation..
That was a brilliant call. It gains 40 yards if our player doesn't fumble the pitch that hit him right in the hands.
This. Boneheaded call in that game was electing to go for it on 4th and 16 instead of allowing your blue chip kicker try a measly 46 yard field goat. That sewed up the Callahan regime.

Wasn't our kicker at the time Jordan Congdon? For some reason the staff had no faith at all in him his sophomore year, particular beyond 40. Maybe they were onto something, as they went after a big-legged scholarship kicker in Kunalic.

That Paul fumble as he was running into the endzone definitely sticks out in my mind. We were destined to lose that game.

I believe I was listening to that one on the radio and wondering what in the world was happening.

Yeah, Congdon couldn't kick the ball very far at all. He needed to be complemented with a big footer, because he was pretty accurate but only within 42 or so.

Him and Bondi would be a solid combination for this year.

That's because in 2005 against Kansas State he kicked a 40 yard field goal to win the game, and barely made it over the crossbar. Weak leg to say the least.

Should just nominate the entire '09 Iowa State game. I remember joking to my brother halfway through the 3rd that we might end up with more turnovers than points. Wouldn't that be hilarious??

And then it actually happened

The crazy thing about that game for me was that I found our performance more comical than disappointing. Sure I didn't like our loss but the fluky errors were amazing.

Texas Tech 2007.

(about 20 seconds in) for a fumble and runs through like it is just an incomplete pass. Set the tone for the rest of the game. Still get mad when I think about that one.

2009 CCG against Texas, when the refs decided to stop the clock at 1 second instead of letting the clock run out like they would in any other game!

Suh leaving his feet instead of making the tackle against VaTech. This allowed the game winning TD.
Didn't help that the called blitz didn't come. Would've been all over Taylor like a cheap suit with that extra pressure.

This thread has really depressed me. I haven't thought about the LeKevin or Nunn fumbles in years.
