What's pretty crazy is even with a lot of less-than-desirable results, we're still just off these lists.

Nebraska has 43 - if the six-win season was 9 it would be 46:


Nebraska has 86 - if the five- and six-win seasons had be nine it would be 93:

If we really want to look at this, we'd need to consider how strong the schedules were of the teams listed. I'd do it by looking at final AP polls. That's what bugs me about the media and college football. They act like they know who's really strong despite the scarcity of meaningful inter-conference play during the regular season...and then post stuff like this without doing their due diligence. For the second year in a row, I've listened to Gary Sharp talk about how the B1G is clearly the strongest conference ahead of the bowl season. I think the talk changed to how the conference has the best coaches since but you get the idea.

 
The missing conference titles make it not so crazy at all.

Get blown out in the significant games of the season, get blown out in a conference title game, constantly fail to end that drought...that's not Nebraska football. So it doesn't seem crazy at all, in my opinion.

 
Hopefully we will get back to winning 10-12 games every year (and more).

If that happens, it would be interesting to see how soon we would get back at the top of the list in the 5-10 year range. Eventually there will be coaching changes at those schools too. Heck, Saban is 65, Urban is 52.
