Motion and shifts

George Darlington: “The multiplicity of their offense is really tough on young players, all the moving around and different personnel groupings,” he said. “I’m sure we won’t have to face the multiplicity we saw today. This should be the best lesson for a young team. Now, other offenses we see, as far as all the shifts and motions and things like that, will seem like kindergarten stuff compared to this.

This is so true, especially on Herians touchdown. The Huskers are moving and shifting one way and slipping one , maybe two guys the other way. Nunn is small enough he just slips through

All of the shifting also helps the QB see what coverage the defense is in. The people on Fox were saying the shifting was mostly for the running game? I've never heard that... :dunno

seems that the shifting is simpler this year, or maybe just fewer mistakes. All in all the plays are getting out a lot faster.

On that third and two, the motion got Nunn to be free on a little out pattern for the first down. In my opinion, the motion and shifts are more the passing game than for the running game.

I love how the O is in one formation. Then a few guys go here and another goes there. Suddenly it's totally different and the D is scrambling, and doesn't know what to do. I agree about the clock situation. We really had the plays in fast, and didn't have any troubles with the new clock rules either which was good.

The shifts were very effective. Hopefully there will be fewer dropped balls in the next game.

I was impressed with ZT and his composure. Very professional like.
