Mr. Nice Guy and the reason he was brought to Lincoln BS

It would be expensive to get rid of MR, but it may be more expensive to keep him if the fans lose interest in Nebraska football.

"If NU were to fire Riley without cause, it would owe him $170,000 per month for the rest of his contract. The monthly figure was $150,000 for Pelini, leading to the $7.9 million that it currently owes him until pay from a new job is deducted."

It was time for Bo to go. He had his time to win a Conf chip and couldn't get it done.

The problem was that we were all excited for a big hire since you fired someone who had pretty good success here. Then, we hired Riley out of left field. We were all like oh okay this might work....Well, from what I've seen in 5 games this def won't work.
political hire by Eichorst, pitiful.

Bo had to go. His time was up.

Riley may be is probably not the guy.

Fact one. Bo was divisive. He has been divisive and very polorizing for a few years.

Fact two. Riley is quickly unifying this fan base. Very quickley. Just not in the direction we thought he would. But he's unifying, is he not?

We can have legit convo about Riley being wrong without saying Bo should still be here. It's ridiculous to lump the two situations. Just like it's ok to say this team is mentally weak and has serious pschy issues left behind by Bo without calling it some conspiracy theory. Cuz it's not. It's a matter of common sense observation. Bo left a rift. intended or not. it's there. And this team is a frickin headcase right now. And I have no problem saying we're 4-1 or 5-0 with Bo right now. But we'd also know what's comin down the pipe. Now it's a change. The boat was rocked. And I see a team that has now lost 3 heartbreakers really confused right now. Becuase they obviously didnt see things under Bo the way we fans did.

So it's been pretty well discussed that Riley was brought in to repair the divide Pelini left us with between school and fans...

We bring in MR, a nice guy, that really had a lot of us hopeful for the future...meanwhile we forgot what unifies Husker Nation..

WINNING.

Win games vs bad opponents by 50. Win games vs comparable talent.
This kind of BS reminds me of why I don't normally visit message boards after a loss. People get to emotional and forget to use reason and common sense.

Just another bad hire from the AD to the coaches. Plus Pearlman the Pres. Should've been dismissed when that Callahan crap got over with. Then we let him show Coach T.O. the door without having him help with the A.D. hire.

This sucks. The admin has screwed us in more then one way.

I just read this earlier. Obviously I read or interpreted something wrong. I thought his buyout was significantly lower than that. Maybe I was looking at the buyout for another school trying to take him?

All offseason, I've maintained it was a lateral move. Trade in a 9-win coach who's a jerk for a 9-win coach people liked.

Now I'm not so sure. I'm really, really dumbfounded by what I witnessed this afternoon.
