Muschamp taking over when Mack Brown retires

Espn is reporting that Muschamp is the coach in waiting for the longhorns, and will take over when mack brown retires.

 
Mack's still fairly young isn't he? I would guess he'd be around for awhile, but maybe i'm wrong. That's probably why he's one of the highest paid assistants in the game.

 
Interesting read. I'm sure Mack will stick around for the remainder of his 8 year contract. I'm not so sure Muschamp will enjoy being that patient. If Tennessee offered me the head job and I'm Muschamp, I'd run with it in heartbeat.

I agree, waiting 8 years, possibly longer if Mack doesn't want to retire is a long time. He can be a head coach at a big school next year if he really wants to.
