Music idea for the defense next year

I'm a huge....huge Godsmack song and they have a song by the name of "Vampire" earned the band a Grammy Nomination for Best Rock Instrumental Performance. It's all about metal and rock and no lyrics. So check it out and see if you guys like this song and I couldn't find a music video so this one had to do.

I just find a good amount of what counts as metal now to be convoluted, leaning towards noisy musical-masturbation. I love Angus's guitar-work, what you find simple I love. Unfortunately AC/DC's lyrics tend to run too simple. Ya the Disturbed guy does his animal-noise schtick too much but I can bob my head to their stuff like I can older stuff. I'm just not a majorly heavy guy. I'm sure you guys know more about metal than me. But stuff along the lines of older Metallica or Pantera is about as hardcore as I can get into. Call me soft but I need a sense of musicality/melody and singing.

Granted I'm likely older than you(I'm 39). I think music in-general has gone down-hill. Don't get me started on the crap found on Hot 106.9.
