Got this from another board.

Former Arkansas quarterback Mitch Mustain plans to transfer to USC in the second week of May, sources close to the quarterback said Wednesday night.

Mustain has attended USC's spring game and practices and is currently attending classes at Arkansas, where the semester ends May 8.

Mustain, considered by some the nation's top recruit before last season, enrolled at Arkansas in large part because coach Houston Nutt hired Mustain's high school coach, Gus Malzahn, as offensive coordinator.

But Arkansas didn't utilized Malzahn's no-huddle, spread offense and he left for Tulsa, where he'll be co-offensive coordinator. Mustain, who was benched at the end of last season, then announced his intention to transfer.

Arkansas won the SEC West last season and began 10-1 before losing the final three games of the season.

This week Nutt released a statement denying rumors he was pursuing other jobs and did not promptly respond to hate e-mail sent to Mustain. He also denied a rumor that he had an affair with a local television anchor.

Report: Arkansas QB Mustain to transfer to USC

April 19, 2007

LOS ANGELES (TICKER) -- It appears coach Pete Carroll has succeeded in landing quarterback Mitch Mustain.

The Los Angeles Times is reporting that Mustain, who started eight games as a freshman at Arkansas last season, will transfer to Southern California.

Mustain visited USC in February and watched the Trojans' spring game on April 7.

If Mustain transfers, he will not be eligible to play until the 2008 season.

But Carroll still has quarterback John David Booty, who will start in 2007.

Mustain asked out of his scholarship at Arkansas after offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn left to take a job at Tulsa. Malzahn was Mustain's coach at Springdale High School.

The 6-3 Mustain was regarded as the best prep quarterback prospect in the country when he committed to Arkansas. He passed for nearly 900 yards and 10 touchdowns as a freshman.

i am sure the mods will move this, but thought it was worth posting up anyway.

Way to go Houston Nutt!
:rollin

USC now has three Parade All-Americans from Arkansas. Mitch Mustain (the Parade Player of the Year his senior year), Damion Williams (who also transferred from Arkansas) and a running back named, I think, Green.

Kinda makes it clear why so many are so intent on getting Nutt out of Arkansas...

my first thought is, 'meh' followed quickly by 'whatevah'.

USC is *THE* rock star of football programs to join right now. it's a flashy school is southern california and right now the players are being treated like little gods: it's not exactly a hard sell unless you don't like southern california (been there, done that... i'll take nebraska any day of the week and twice on a sunday).

Houston Nutt is something else, he really screwed it big time. He still has McFadden (sp) lets see how many times he hands the ball off this year.
