As many of you can see I like to post a lot on this board, but recently(the past week or so) I have sat back and just watched the discussion leading up to and also the discussion after the USC game. It disappoints me to see so many Husker fans question our team after this 28-10 loss. No, we weren't very effective offensively. No, we didn't score many points. No, we didn't play to our full potential, but mark my words...WE WILL BE FINE. The game I watched showed some impressive runs by Kenny Wilson on a speedy defense the Trojans have. I have no idea why Glenn wasn't used. Disturbs me to tell the truth, but it is what it is and this game was close even if the difference in score was 18. IMO this might as well be a 1 point loss/18 point loss it doesn't matter...it seemed like we were still in it the whole time because we weren't getting blown out. In the minimal completions/throws Taylor had, it made me think...wow think of how bad we are going to beat some big 12 teams because then Cally won't be afraid to do that over and over again on a big 12 opponent. If 1 or 2 more things would have gone our way I see one very close game and its just too bad that things like Booty's fumble was scooped up by a back and taken for a 1st down. Lucky's fumble was crucial also. Things like this KILLED anything we had going. I firmly believe though that if we would have passed more we would have been in a tie contest down to the wire in the 4th. If we can hold USC to only 28 points, then there shouldn't be a big 12 team that scores over 28 on us ever this season. Just some things I need to get off my chest and point out that probably have been mentioned before by someone else:

-Glenn wasn't used...why? Who knows. Cally's press conference left me wondering when he didn't have much to say about him when asked. Cally seemed a little rude to people when asked a question also.

-PASS, PASS, PASS. We should have passed more and mixed it up. Bottomline. Motions, shifts, play actions, bootlegs...if anything like that was used and mixed up we would really have tested the USC defense. Obviously they stopped the run on us well and it got tiring to watch us get negative 5 yards on toss plays more than one time. I liked the little shovel passes and passes in the backfield to BJAX. We should have Lucky in there more for those and stretched the field more. Where was Swift or Purify?

-Andre Jones...you got schooled brother. Of course anyone else would have in your shoes. USC is loaded with talent and all, but do not ever speak out in front of the nation expecting a win against USC and then let the Jarrett led WR core school you all day long. Better luck next year...maybe you can speak out before next years USC game and be successful with Bowman on the otherside of the field playing corner! :thumbs

-Callahan: Just come up with a game plan to win. You can't expect to run, run, run all over USC when you come into their place. "Establish the run" - I got sick of hearing that. Didn't we run it enough in the first 2 games? You should have caught USC off guard a couple times, but you chose to run and get shut down for the most part.

Keep in mind I have not lost any hope after this game at all. As weird as it may seem, I actually feel good about the rest of our season. To me, if the right plays are called we are a force to be reckoned with. This long post is probably a bunch of B.S. opinion, but who cares! ;) I feel good about the Huskers right now and the big 12 better watch out! :restore

Great points Kansas! I am so worn out reading all the posts, that I can't muster up the mental strenght to respond to any of them. What is done is done. If anything I hope the staff takes this game as a lesson and we move on to the Big 12 championship game. GBR!!

I agree I stopped responding to a lot of the negative posts not because I didn't want to I just was sick and tired of hearing it!!!! I'm pumped for Saturday now and I can't wait to order the game!!!! :restore

Thanks guys. I just needed my thoughts to be displayed. The negativity has driven me crazy and it's good to see I'm not the only one with their head on straight still! :thumbs
