What the heck is FBS, formly known as 1AA, is it something to make the lower division feel better about themselves, it better not be politically correct.

 
Football Bowl Subdivision is form. Div 1-A, FCS is Football Championship Subdivision, form. Div 1-AA.

No no no, FBS is IA, FCS is IAA. Or it is what they used to be. Or...that which once was IAA, now is FCS. The C is for Champion. Because I-AA folks are champions too! See, it's all PC....the politically correct system!

Division 2 is FTS, Football Tournament Sub-division

Division 3 is FSS, Football Series Sub-division.
