My year in review

I'll keep this brief, but for me it's a list of "if onlys" topped off with a big helping of "wishing we had an offense."

If only we hadn't given up the last play against Virginia Tech.

If only we hadn't fumbled 8 times.

If we only had an offense against Texas or hadn't kicked the ball out of bounds and horse-collared.

Okay, the 8 fumbles were a fluke but showed symptoms of an inept offense. But two plays on the last play of two separate games (VT & Texas) spelled the difference between 9-3 and 11-1.

The defense shined all year but the offense sputtered and tried to find it's identity.

So, for me I sum it up with a lot of "if onlys,"

:hmmph I was thinking the same today! all the what ifififif/ 11-1 maybe a national title shot. :bang

That would make us the worst 11-1 team in the history of the NCAA. The sad part is that we were SO close to it. I have high hopes for the next few years.

iffs and butts, whatever..

I think the team made major progress defensively.

Offensively we also took 2 steps back.

I think Bo will address the offense after the bowl game.

They already have plans.

There are some really good positives about this year.

Nebraska has gotten ALLOT and I mean ALLOT of great press over the past several weeks.

Winning the North

All the "Spoiler Alert" stuff leading up to the Championship game.

Almost/Should have beat Texas.

All the fallout from that.

The Bowl projections, and continued talk about NU.

Suh being invited to the Heisman trophy award.

Suh cleaning house on 4 other awards.

Turner Gill being named head coach of Kansas always brings back a story of the Huskers.

It's been an awesome media frenzy where NU is getting some big time national attention and respect.

So, the offense is going to change, but there is no doubt that NU has been placed back on the map in the national discussions.
