Appleton, MI -- A 41-year-old Appleton man was arrested Thursday after allegedly nailing his home’s doors and windows shut Wednesday to keep his 24-year-old girlfriend from leaving.
Dean S. Hill, 509 E. McKinley St., is expected to appear in Outagamie County Circuit Court today on charges of false arrest, battery and disorderly conduct in connection with an incident of domestic violence.
He is in custody at the Outagamie County Jail.
According to Appleton Police Department spokesman Sgt. Pat Dewall, there were an unknown number of children in the home at the time of the incident, which began at about 5 p.m. Wednesday. Neither they nor the alleged victim, whose name was not available, were injured. Someone inside the home called 911 at 1:52 a.m. Thursday.
In addition to nailing down the windows, Hill nailed shut the patio door and removed the handles from casement windows.
