Names for a female dog?

I went looking for dogs today and the one I hope to go back and pick up tomorrow (as long as it is still there) is a female.

Her name right now is Maja...but when I first thought about getting a dog I thought about naming it Husker. Husker seems more of a guy name to me now...so I was wondering if any of you have a name for a dog that might be Nebraska related but better suited for a female?

Thanks!

I named my 1st Siberian Husky "Husker"

She was great except when we played Washington..I had to bite her in the neck.

I'd love to have a Husky! Ever since I was a kid I loved wolves, so having a wolf dog would be awesome!

Thanks for the ideas guys. Scarlet was a clever one. Unfortunately I went back Sunday and someone had already adopted her. I really wish I could have taken her with me on Saturday...cutest little retriever/shepherd. I gotta stop getting my hopes up over these things.

I'm going to go back again this weekend and see if they have any new arrivals. I ended up even liking the name Maja...so at least one good thing came out of it all.

For another one (though it was a guys name) you could always use "Brooke" in rememberance of Berringer.

Yeah..I'm on my 3rd Husky..I considered an Akita, but with Kids..You can't beat a friendly Husky.

The Siberian Husky is the fastest, most enduring and most versatile of all purebred sled dogs. He is extremely affectionate, even clownish, but is also independent and sometimes head-strong. He requires a fenced yard because he loves to run and generally does not come when called. He also sheds his coat once or twice a year in profuse quantities. He is excellent with children but is no watch dog, loving friends and strangers alike. Built for speed and endurance, he is somewhat smaller than people often imagine, usually weighing 40-50 pounds.

just an update. Got my puppy this weekend....and named him Husker :)

He's a 2 month old, black lab mix. Before they even brought him out to me, my friend asked what I was going to name him, and I finally said I settled on Husker. When they brought him out they had put a RED collar on him! Perfect!
