national media and our home field "advantage"

I keep hearing the national media say NU will win because the game is in Lincoln, which shows how little they watch the Huskers and don't know how poorly we have been playing at home.

This from Ivan Maisel's chat today on espn.com:

Josh (Tampa)Ivan, Missouri vs Nebraska. Who wins, and why?

I like Nebraska because the game is in Lincoln and because Missouri will have to show uncommon maturity to survive all the backslapping after the OU victory and because it's hard to believe Nebraska will lay another huevo like it did against Texas.

Obviously it all comes down to how focused our boys are on gameday. Put all the distractions aside, get out on the field and prove your worth! :power

If I were a Missouri fan, the mental aspect of this game is what would worry me most. Last year, Missouri had the youngest team in the nation, and some of their fans were quick to not let us forget it.

Now, this may bite them again. Missouri has such little experience winning big games like this that their minds could be in a tough spot.

Personally, I think this whole "we're better on the road" thing is a little overblown.

I mean, our last two home games all we had to do was "show up", right? SDSU was nothing, Texas was on it's death bed. I really do think our players believed that was all they had to do. Just be there, no sweat.

This week I think there is that little seed of doubt in their minds. Mizzou is coming off a huge win. They're for real as far as we know.

We'll be ready. I believe that.

But that's just my opinion.

Also, the last 2 teams who we've faced who were unbeaten received their first loss thanks to us. Here's to making it 3/3 (Technically 5/5 cuz WKU and Idaho were both undefeated when they faced us ..... chuckleshuffle )
