On the court? They're comparable. Jordan's peak was better, but there's something to be said for longevity, and LeBron is kicking Jordan's a$$ in that department. LeBron has been, arguably, the best player in the league for 15 years, and he'll probably be right there another 1 or 2, at least. That's incredible.
Also, those Durant/Curry/Thompson Warrior teams would of kicked Jordan's a$$ too.

Oh man, that is a tough one.
Pip is shutting down Curry and/or Thompson. Jordan is shutting down the other and Rodman on Durant is a nightmare, KD would lose his mind.

You might shut down three of those Warriors for a quarter, or two of them for most of the game, but even the Bulls would have had trouble plugging up that scoring machine for a full game or series.
And that entire Warrior team prided themselves on defense. If they concentrated on slowing Jordan, the Bulls didn't have the backup scoring threats the Warriors did.
It's always fun when Steve Kerr gets asked this question.

And Jordan has the edge over LeBron because MJ had a better killer instinct. Jordan simply wasn't going to lose. LeBron has a weird history of passing up the crucial shot.

They may pride themselves on D but the Bulls legit had 3 of the best defenders in the game.
Toss in Toni K and Ron Harper and you have tons of scoring.
Who is guarding Pip?
Who is keeping Rodman, not only off the boards, but out of their head. He would have had that nut job for GS fouled out in 5 minutes.

MJ or Lebron, straight up, either or? I’m taking Jordan. Every. Time. Forget about teams and team mates, that guy refused and hated to lose ever, at anything. Can’t say the same about Lebron. I’ve seen him roll over and give up on multiple occasions. Probably why his longevity is going to be better. Don’t believe I ever saw MJ do that.

Yeah, I'm going to go ahead and suggest that LeBron's longevity has more to do with the way he takes care of his body. Not that he supposedly doesn't play as hard as Jordan.
They're different players, but I'd probably take Jordan to win one game. LeBron undoubtedly makes the guys around him better than Jordan did those around him.
Edit: He probably isn't going to, but if LeBron gets to 6 rings that's going to hurt Jordan's GOAT claim. 6 Finals with 12 appearances beats 6 Finals in as many appearances. Getting to the Finals and losing is better than not getting there at all.

Not that he doesn't play as hard (James is a freak and and stud and I love him) but just that back in the 90's, you could kill dudes...the NBA players don't do that anymore (they all know it is in their best interest to NOT beat the s#!t out of each other)

I really don't think it's an exaggeration to think that Jordan could have averaged 40 ppg with how the game is played today.

I mean ... Jordan is at the top of the list for most selections to the All-Defensive First team (9). Pippen was All-Defensive First Team 8 times and Second-Team twice more. Rodman was First-Team 7 times and Second-Team once. The Warriors have Green with three firsts and two seconds and then Thompson with one second. Curry and Durant haven't made it.
The Warriors may have prided themselves on defense but they don't hold a candle to the Bulls.
